Regionalization Task Force Update

by Ryan Tushner, M.E. Group

The USGBC NFC Regionalization Task Force has had a very busy year. Since the group began meeting, the 25 members have met biweekly to determine the Regional Priority credits for the state of Nebraska in the LEED 2012 Rating Systems. The group has reached out to local organizations and individuals to develop an understanding of issues across the state, and where such issues are localized. Great efforts have been made to maintain transparency of the process, and to involve as many interested parties as possible. Currently, the task force is in the process of finalizing the regional zones within the state, and clarifying the issues present within each zone. In the coming months, the task force will refine the issues into LEED credits, and develop the final list of LEED Regional Priority credits for all of the zones within Nebraska.

In addition to the development of the LEED credits, the team has been developing positive relationships among the members, and having a great time. Contact Ryan if interested in joining the group: Ryan.Tushner@megroup.com. Meetings are held every other Friday at 10am.
