ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 Achieves 30% Savings Over 2004 Version
The 2010 version of Standard 90.1 achieves its intended goal of enabling 30% energy savings compared to the 2004 standard. Standard 90.1-2010 was published in November 2010. However, ASHRAE recently received the final results of an analysis by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Energy Codes Program on addenda included in the standard. Without plug loads, site energy savings are 32.6% and energy cost savings are 30.1%. Including plug loads, the site energy savings are estimated to be 25.5% and energy cost savings are 24%. Read more
