We are excited to start our
monthly USGBC lunch and learn events for 2013! Please note that we will be at a
new location this year: Trane at 5720 S 77th St in Ralston.
Costs will stay the same as
last year ($15 for members, $25 for nonmembers, and $10 for students). Lunch is
included.
Or you may also RSVP to: programs@usgbcne.org and pay
at the door the day of the event with cash or check only.
Our first speaker, Carrie Dahl with IFMA Education, will be speaking about the recent approval of the IFMA Sustainability Facilities Professional (SFP) credential for GBCI credits along with the Facility Management Professional (FMP).
The University of Nebraska at
Omaha is offering an SFP course this spring with the only opportunity in the
nation to take advantage of grant funding from a state agency, Nebraska
Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ). SFP Instructor Rick Yoder will also
be answering questions regarding the course offering and how the content of the
SFP applies to the USGBC and LEED professionals.
Yoder will also tie the IFMA
training to the education needs identified by the Omaha LEED community through
the "What Follows LEED?"sessions held at UNO College of Business
Administration.
