The awards ceremony will recognize environmental leadership in sustaining and improving air, land, and water quality and protecting public health. The 2010 Lincoln-Lancaster County Environmental Leadership Award Recipients are:
- Business and Industry – Sadoff Iron and Metal Company and Servant Cab Company, LLC Agriculture – Community CROPS
- Non-Profit Organization – Nebraska State Education Association
- Government – UNL Whittier Junior High School Renovations
- Education – Harry A. Heafer and Healthy Families Play Outside
- Individual Citizen – Jeanne Pashalek.
Dr. Brooks practiced law for ten years in Idaho and served three terms in the Idaho Senate. Mayor of Lincoln Chris Beutler and Lancaster County Board Commissioner Deb Schorr will also be providing opening and closing comments. Community leaders will provide a presentation highlighting the accomplishments of each of the award recipients.
The Lincoln and Lancaster County Environmental Leadership Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 3, at the Nebraska Champions Club. The Environmental Leadership Awards Luncheon will begin at noon and conclude at 1:30 P.M. Pre-paid reservations of $15 per person are due by Wednesday, May 27.
